Telos Drive Tone Control
We voiced the tone control on the Drive channel a bit differently than most overdrives. It's common to have a tone control that gets too bright too fast and too dark too fast with a narrow "sweet spot." We made a large sweet spot so the entire range of the Drive Tone Control affects the upper mids and the pick attack. It can get bright at the highest parts of its range, but there is no sudden jump.
It doesn't get as dark as many overdrive tone controls - this is intentional. One, it allows the larger sweet spot noted above and two, there are tone controls on our guitars if we want to channel Fresh Cream.
Also remember the Boost Tone Control affects the sound when Boost + Drive are engaged. So you can set the Boost Tone Control so that the overall sound gets much darker, allowing a natural sounding Drive by itself but a fuller, smoother, more saturated lead sound when Boost + Drive are both active.
