Telos Pure Gain and Soft Drive Boost Modes

There are two available Boost modes on the Telos.

Pure Gain (pushbutton in):

This is just what it says it is - a straight volume increase with no tonal change within the Telos. Depending on the available headroom of the amplifier preamp circuit paired with the Telos, you will either get a volume increase (great for a clean lead at a louder level than your rhythm playing) or compression and then natural overdrive from your amp.

Soft Drive (pushbutton out):

This mode creates a soft, subtle overdrive with a slightly darker tonality and a tightened low end. The Tone and Level controls for the Boost channel are active when Soft Drive mode is engaged.

Please note that the Tone control for Soft Drive mode is capable of rolling off more highs than are useful when in Soft Drive mode by itself, but the excess rolloff can be very useful when using Soft Drive as a boost into the Drive channel.

Use the side-adjustable Dirt control to set the optimum amount of drive for Soft Drive mode. We suggest starting around 1:00.

Regardless of the position of this pushbutton, when both the Boost and Drive channels are selected, the boost defaults to Soft Drive, as it is voiced specifically to boost the Drive channel effectively.
